Hi, my name is Jonette, and I’m the founder of The Steady Helper.

This all began when I was helping an elderly friend who needed support with everyday tasks—things like selecting the right credit card, saving photos from her family, returning online purchases, paying rent correctly, or transferring balances between accounts. It was a mix of tech help, life admin, and just having someone to count on.

Over time, I realized how many older adults need this kind of help but may feel uncomfortable asking their family—or might not have anyone around to ask at all. Some have adult children who love them but are busy with work and caring for families of their own. Life gets hectic, and it’s not always easy to juggle it all.

That’s where I come in.

I created The Steady Helper to offer reliable, kind, and judgment-free support to the senior community. I believe our elders have so much wisdom and value to offer—wisdom that today’s fast-paced, tech-driven world often overlooks. When we assist them with modern tasks, they often give back in ways we don’t expect—with stories, perspective, and advice that are truly priceless.

Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can offer is simply to show up—to let someone know they’re not alone, that they matter, and that they’re still seen and heard.

The older generation is not forgotten. They are important. And helping them isn’t just a service—it’s a privilege.
